In this talk given to Google employees, I explored the ways our meta-crisis is both an opportunity and a challenge. The complex problems facing the world today require critical systems change. Individual and collective change can expose our most basic vulnerabilities and ask us to respond with wisdom, clarity, compassion and collaboration. If we are to turn the Titanic around with innovation, we need to rely on more than data, which is incomplete. We need to exercise humility and to apply ourselves to systemic change that needs to occur now, and not be lulled into settling for a comfortable life. This is a time of urgency with hopefulness. As we step into relationship with one another and use our unique inspiration to address the issues at hand, we have the ability to bring about the dramatic change the world so desperately needs right now.
